TNPSC Librarian Posts Exam 2018 :

• Librarian (TN Govt Legislative Assembly Secretariat) in Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat  Service  - 65 Posts - Basic Pay 56100 plus allowances in Tamil State State Pay Matrix Level 22 (Basic Pay 15600 Grade Pay 5400 in Pay Band III category)  - Any Degree with Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS)
• Librarian Grade I in Tamil Nadu Industries Subordinate Service ---  - Basic Pay 36200 plus allowances in Tamil State State Pay Matrix Level 15 (Basic Pay 9300 Grade Pay 4500 in Pay Band II category) - Any Degree with Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS) with minimum two years experience
• Librarian and Information Assistant Grade I (Anna Centenary Library, Kotturpuram, Chennai) in Tamil Nadu Educational Subordinate Service  --- - Basic Pay 36200 plus allowances in Tamil State State Pay Matrix Level 15 (Basic Pay 9300 Grade Pay 4500 in Pay Band II category) - Any Degree with Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS)
• Librarian and Information Assistant Grade II (Anna Centenary Library, Kotturpuram, Chennai) in Tamil Nadu Educational Subordinate Service  --- - Basic Pay 19500 plus allowances in Tamil State State Pay Matrix Level 8 (Basic Pay 5200 Grade Pay 2400 in Pay Band I category)  - Any Degree with Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS)
• Librarian and Film Librarian in Tamil Nadu General Subordinate Service 

Educational Qualifications required for TNPSC Exam Post :

• Bachelor's Degree in any subject
• AND
• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Library and Information Science

Experience required :

• 2 years experience for Industries Dept Librarian
• NIL - for all other department librarians.

Age limit details :

• Minimum age limit is 25 years should have completed.
• 40 years for SC / SCA / ST and Destitute Widow of all communities.
• 37 years for BC / MBC / DNC candidates
• 35 years age limit for UR candidates.
• There is no age limit for  SC / SCA / ST / BC / MBC / DNC candidates and Destitute Widow of all communities who possess a General Educational Qualification which is higher than the Minimum General Educational Qualification (i.e. who have passed P.U.C / H.S.C / Diploma /Degree).
• Additional 10 years age relaxations are applicable for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as per Government of India rules, in addition to the above communal roster systems.
• UR candidates, who have put in 5 years and more of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply even if they are within the age limit
• 48 years for UR Ex-Service-man candidates.
• 53 years for SC / SCA / ST / BC / MBC Ex-Service-man candidates.

Examination Details :

Method of selection via, Written Exam (single paper) and Viva-Voce Test.

I Paper : General Studies 

II Paper : Library Science

Interview / Oral Test -  marks.

There is no negative marking system.

Examination Centres : All Districts in Tamil Nadu.
